  • To ensure orderly operation and to optimize our services: We monitor the use of our services to ensure capacity utilization and IT security. This is done on the basis of IP addresses. We do not match IP addresses to your user account.

d) What is the legal basis of the data processing?

By registering on our online portal and purchasing a ticket or redeeming a voucher code for a ticket, you establish a business relationship with us. We process your data therefore based on article 6.1 a-c of the EU-GDPR:

Do we pass your data to third parties?

Within the DECHEMA Group (DECHEMA e.V., DECHEMA Research Institute, DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH) we use your data to inform you about services and products that fit your needs. We guarantee that we will always process your personal data in accordance with the provisions of the applicable data protection laws. We will not pass your data to third parties, except you register for an event DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH is organizing in cooperation with other partners or by utilizing external service providers. In such a case we normally will transmit your registration data to our cooperation partners.  As far as it is required for the realization of an event or to fulfill your request data may be transfered to associated affiliates, organizations or external service providers, too. If data are transfered to third parties in accordance to the above announced regulations, we oblige these parties to operate within the rules of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EUDataP). If you register for an event which is part of a series of events, that are organized by altering national or international organizers, DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH will usually pass your adress and/or contact data to the next organizer of this event series. As far as we are obligated legally or by court order, we will convey your data to information-entitled governmental authorities.

You should be aware of the fact that you can object to the analysis or use of your personal data for these purposes at any time.

We are using a number of external service providers and also cloud service providers to help us to deliver our event and IT services. These are e.g. the company re-lounge GmbH with its tool Inxmail for sending and administering our newsletters. For the issuing and accounting of tickets as well as for the service “personalized ticket” we work together with the Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH. The online ticket shop for ACHEMA Pulse is performed in cooperation with the company ADITUS GmbH. For the ACHEMA Pulse digital event the interactive event community platform talque is used, operated by the company Real Life Interaction GmbH. We embed plugins on dedicated pages of our website in order to make content from the event platform also visible to interested visitors. For analysis and optimization of our web services we are using the web analysis service Matomo (formerly Piwik). All of these service providers have been carefully selected by us and contractually committed to the careful observance of all relevant data protection regulations. At the same time, of course, we only pass on the minimum amount of data required to use these services.

If you redeem a voucher in order to receive a free ticket, we will pass on your contact details (name, address and e-mail) to the voucher issuer (usually an exhibitor). By redeeming the voucher, you automatically declare your consent to the transfer and use of your data by the exhibitor. We have no further influence on the use of your data by the voucher issuer. If you do not wish this data transfer, you must purchase a ticket for a fee without using a voucher code.

In some places of our website you can contribute within forums or register into catalogs. These contributions in our forums and/or catalogs are accessible for everyone. Therefore one should examine a contribution carefully before the publication whether it not contains data, which are not intended for the public. One must assume, that Internet search machines view those contributions. Therefore this contribution may be world-wide accessible without visiting our website initially. In case of foreign operators the deletion or correction of such entries often cannot be accomplished.

What data does my personalized ticket contain?

An essential guiding principle of the trade fairs we organize is to promote the exchange of information at all levels. In order to make it as easy as possible for you as a visitor to get in touch with the exhibitors you are interested in, we will provide you with a personalized admission ticket. This contains a machine-readable barcode that can be used to uniquely identify you and serves as an electronic business card during your visit to the trade fair.

Exhibitors can "scan" the barcode on your admission ticket to access your contact details and use them to deepen the initial contact. By handing over your personalized admission ticket to the exhibitor for "scanning", you agree to the transfer of your data to the exhibitor. The process is comparable to the handing over of a printed business card and is therefore a deliberate decision on your part. We only provide you with the technical service. We have no influence on the further use of your data by the receiving exhibitor.

What other rights do I have?

a) Rights of access, rectification, deletion and objection

As provided in Article 14-17 of the EU-GDPR we inform you about your rights of access, rectification, deletion and limitation of your processing data. You have the right to request from the controller access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability.

b) Right of withdrawal

Your right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before the withdrawal.

c) Right of appeal

Lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority is always possible.

Google Ads

We use "Google Ads" (formerly Google AdWords) on our website, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as "Google"). Google Ads enables us to draw attention to our attractive offers with the help of advertising media on external websites. This enables us to determine how successful individual advertising measures are. These advertising materials are delivered by Google via so-called "AdServers". For this purpose, we use so-called AdServer cookies, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days. They are not intended to identify you personally. The following information is usually stored as analysis values for this cookie: unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed). These cookies enable Google to recognize your web browser. If a user visits certain pages of the website of an Ads customer and the cookie stored on his computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. A different cookie is assigned to each Ads customer. Cookies can therefore not be tracked across Ads customers' websites. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can see which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising media; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information. Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with Google's server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of Google Ads. According to our knowledge, Google receives the information that you have called up the relevant part of our website or clicked on an ad from us. If you have a user account with Google and are registered, Google can assign the visit to your user account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is the possibility that Google learns your IP address and stores it.

We use Google Ads for marketing and optimization purposes, in particular to display ads that are relevant and interesting to you, to improve campaign performance reports and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. This is also our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third-party provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

You can prevent the installation of cookies by deleting existing cookies and deactivating a storage of cookies in the settings of your web browser. We point out that in this case you may not be able to use all features of our website in full.

You can also prevent cookies from being stored by setting your web browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com" (https://www.google.de/settings/ads). We would like to point out that this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies. In addition, you can deactivate interest-based ads via the link http://optout.aboutads.info.

We would like to point out that this setting will also be deleted when you delete your cookies.

reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses take place completely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place.
